Self Build House

Mitchell Eley Gould have collaborated closely with Joel and his family enabling them to design and deliver their one off self-build house in Crewe. The proposal has resulted in a low energy building that meets passive house standards using breathable and natural materials. This unique dwelling defines the edge of the public realm and the design process has resulted in a building that provides a sequence of internal spaces that open out and connect seamlessly with the private garden. Joel sought out the practice to help him design his new family home. MEG helped galvanize his ideas and form new approaches for the scheme. The collaborative process continued from initial concept, through planning and technical design, with shared work on drawings and documents even. The unique house is rapidly taking shape on site.
