Castle Quarry
Tytherington, Gloucestershire
Castle Quarry is the design for three new dwellings situated on the secluded site of a Victorian quarry in Tytherington. The three dwellings share an architectural and material language designed to enhance the natural setting and reference the site’s industrial heritage, using a local grey-blue sandstone and details which reference the (since demolished) quaint timber structure of Tytherington Train Station which once served the quarry. The main stone-clad house overlooks a lake formed by the quarry excavations, whilst the two smaller dwellings sit comfortably amongst the tree line.
Planning was granted fro this scheme in May 2019.
